I’ve been involved in digital preservation – and subsequently data management – since 2002, when I started working at HATII at the University of Glasgow under Professor Seamus Ross.

Since 2008 I’ve been based at the Digital Curation Centre at the University of Edinburgh. In between times I worked at Edinburgh College of Art, which has since joined me at the University via a merger in 2011.

This blog has as its creation myth the realisation that I’d been labouring in the preservation fields for almost a decade, and it was time to bury some fossils for the future.
